Black Peaches is the new project by Rob Smoughton, best known as a long-time member of Hot Chip. Funk to the end of the road and back

Sat 3rd - Gnawa Blues All Stars

Born in Africa’s Mahgreb desert, the compelling dance rhythms of Gnawa music have been driving traditional trance-dance rituals for centuries. In this London-based collective Moroccan master musician Simo Lagnawi combines the raw bass sound of his guembri with electric guitar, drums and a changeable roster of UK guest musicians to whip up an equally compelling version for the 21st century.

Sun 4th - Shake art Fair

This is an Illustration based event. from 12:00pm - 5:00pm Shake will display the finest artistic talent via their stalls of artists displaying their glorious crafts and work. Featuring Comics, Zines, Prints, t-shirts etc.

Fri 9th - The Burning Hell

The Burning Hell is the alter ego of Canadian Songwriter Mathias Kom, and the band has been on the road in one form or another since 2007, playing everywhere from festivals like Glastonbury and Dawson City to bars, living rooms, abandoned bunkers, and a mental asylum in rural France. Musically, The Burning Hell runs the gamut from introspective folk to hyperactive rock and roll, and so the band can adapt to its surroundings like a karma of anthropomorphic chameleons, taking the audience on a supermarket-cart ride through hooky, upbeat pop songs, dark ballads about pet euthanasia, and anthems for barbarians, economic conferences, and love.

Sat 10th - Dutty Girls 90's House Party

Dutty Girl are a collective based in Bristol who musically span a multitude of genres from Dancehall, Hiphop to House and more. They do things their own way, with their own sense of home-girl haute couture style. They have been running successful club nights in Bristol for the past eight years.

Mon 12th - Black Milk

Black Milk is a master of beats and rhymes, renowned for his top-flight production, insightful lyrics and thrilling live shows. Far from your typical rap act, he has steadily added new sounds and styles to his repertoire while working with a diverse group of collaborators, from Jack White and Robert Glasper to his own band Nat Turner (Aaron "Ab" Abernathy on keys, Z Horton on drums and Malik Hunter on bass).

Fr 16th - Tru Thoughts Label Take Over

Featuring on the night J-Felix, Wrongtom & Anchorsong. Tru Thoughts is an Independent Record Label. It was formed in Brighton in 1999 by Robert Luis of Deeds Plus Thoughts and Paul Jonas. It became, in one decade, one of the most famous and well respected labels in independent music world.

Thru Thoughts has sent three of their finest artists as part of their launch take over at Hy Brasil Music Club. This is not to be missed.

Sat 17th - Crinkle Cuts

Fresh with a capital PH, Crinkle Cuts deliver you a blasting of tantric funk, smooth reggae and new-wave latin ska woven together in a bombastic psychedelic tapestry of good vibes for an eccentric, exotic and eargasmic live performance.

Sat 24th - Soul & Funk Christmas Eve DJ's

 

Soul-On-Delivery DJ's are a collective that specialise in the kind of vinyl that puts a smile on your face, has your body dancing and keeps the party rolling. Merry Christmas everybody.

Sat 31st - Baraka's Afrobeat, Funk, Soul New Years Eve Party

Baraka is a unique combination of musicians from Ghana, Senegal, Dominica, Trinidad and Southern Ireland. Each musician contributes his individual sound and style - Reggae featuring a Kora and Djembe, Township with a Calypso Baseline, Hilife with a Blues Harmonica, Soca with Balafon and Flute. Baraka fuses musical combinations that you are unlikely to hear with any other band. Baraka is edgy, experimental and innovative without loosing sight of the fact that entertainment is key.

The Happy Few offer a unique take on soul/rock music uses heavy rhythm and dark atmosphere. With a giant hip hop/soul feel in the grooves, the guitars weave from explosive blues dominance to subtle atmospheric soundscaping, to compliment Alex Wilshaw’s incredibly haunting vocals.
