Meldrum is a new band from Stockholm, Sweden. With the release of their debut album "Loaded Mental Cannon" on Record Heaven Music they have stirred up alot of attention aroung the globe. This fresh, new heavy, alternative, hard rock band is a combination of mind bending in your face guitar riffs, heavy grooves, and haunting aggressive vocals. They have created a unique, cutting edge, dark sound of their own. Vocalist Moa Holmsten delivers the goods, with an equally aggressive attack live and in the studio, and then capturing the listener again when she delivers something with melodic content as well. Guitarist Michelle Meldrum was both co-founder and lead guitarist in "Phantom Blue". Leading "Phantom Blue" from a debut album on Shrapnel Records on to a major deal with Geffen Records, followed by successful world tours. Drummer Fredrik Haake has recorded albums with a New York band "Giles" then on to record two albums and toured worldwide with American group "God Is My Co-Pilot". The Origins of Meldrum are rooted in hard rock with a cross-section of genres strengthened by the band's remarkably powerful, organic songwriting. Fronting the band is Moa's mammoth vocal style, combined with heavy guitar riffs, and lying underneath it all is a pounding rhythm section with fiercely bombastic grooves.. This combination makes up a heavy-in your face, talented, and exciting group with songs that will haunt your mind for days. They have recently toured with Motorhead in Europe and Zakk Wylde's Black Label Society and Nashville Pussy in the states.
